Some cancer types respond to immunotherapy more effectively than others. Some of these tumours are treated with it alone, but for others, it seems to function best when combined with other forms of therapy.
A group of organs, unique cells, and substances collectively known as the immune system work to defend against infections and some other disorders. Because the cancer cells don't differ enough from normal cells, the immune system occasionally fails to recognise the cancer cells as foreign. Even when the immune system recognises cancer cells, it may not always mount a powerful enough attack to eradicate the disease. Additionally, the compounds that cancer cells release may prevent the immune system from identifying and destroying them.
Researchers have discovered strategies to improve the immune system's capacity to identify cancer cells and to respond to them more forcefully. By using some scientific assistance, the body is truly able to eliminate cancer in this way.
