Using AI throughout this stage of the process could help trials run more effectively and allow researchers to forecast how a drug will interact with an animal model more swiftly and successfully. Predictive Oncology is expected to be a market leader in the artificial intelligence (AI) powered drug discovery market, which POAI anticipates to reach $20 billion in the next three years, according to the company's strategy for 2022. The company intends to promote PeDAL by leveraging its current pharma contacts, bringing the unique platform out of the research lab and into the pipelines of oncology drug discovery companies.

The Discovery 21 evaluation, which served as a proof of concept for PeDAL, was just completed by POAI. PeDAL is powered by CoRE, POAI's Artificial Intelligence software, which uses tumor profile data, patient tumor samples, and active machine learning to discover the best effective therapeutic treatment for a particular cancer kind. As more wet-lab experimental data is added to the models, CoRE learns and improves the accuracy of the projected treatment results with each iteration. Early identification of the best tumor type leads to a more targeted clinical development program, which is where the majority of drug development funds are spent. According to the US Department of Health and Human Services, the cost of developing a new cancer indication is estimated to be about $35 million.
