FREMONT, CA: Nuvectis Pharma, a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing innovative precision medicines for serious unmet medical needs in oncology, has secured 15 million dollars in Series A Preferred Stock financing with institutional and private investors. Nuvectis also announced that the CRT Pioneer Fund LP, a specialist oncology investment fund managed by Sixth Element Capital in the United Kingdom, has licensed exclusive worldwide rights to develop and commercialize the drug candidate NXP800, a novel, oral small-molecule inhibitor of the heat shock factor 1 (HSF1) pathway. The compound was discovered at The Institute for Cancer Research's Cancer Therapeutics Unit in London, England.

The HSF1 pathway regulates important processes involved in cancer cell proliferation, metastasis, and survival across many cancers. NXP800 suppressed tumor growth in xenograft models of Ovarian Clear Cell Carcinoma (OCCC) and endometroid ovarian cancer, both significant diseases with unmet medicinal needs, in preclinical research.

NXP800 can be a first-in-class inhibitor of the HSF1 pathway, based on its product profile. A Phase I trial in patients with advanced cancer was conducted.
