InveniAI announces that the first milestone in its collaboration with PRISM BioLab was completed successfully.
FREMONT, CA: InveniAI LLC, a global pioneer in using artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to change drug discovery and development, has announced that the first milestone in its collaboration with PRISM BioLab Co. Ltd., a biotechnology firm with its small-molecule drug discovery method was completed successfully. This breakthrough signifies the completion of the identification and authentication of a small molecule drug candidate against PYCARD, also recognized as ASC (apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing CARD), an adaptor protein involved in innate immunity and inflammatory response that InveniAI detected as a possible target in the treatment of chronic inflammatory and autoimmune gastrointestinal (GI) diseases.

The agreement, initiated in September 2020, combines InveniAI's AI-based platform AlphaMeld with PRISM's proprietary chemistry platform to accelerate the discovery of therapeutic candidates at scale and with a higher chance of clinical success. INVA8003, a first-in-class pan-inflammasome inhibitor, is the first program to be prioritized for IND enabling research. The development of the inflammasome, a multi-protein complex in which PYCARD plays a critical role, is a fundamental event in the innate immune response. Inflammasome activation has been connected to a variety of inflammatory and autoimmune disorders. PYCARD inhibition by INVA8003 affects inflammasome assembly, possibly leading to substantial anti-inflammatory activities in chronic inflammatory and autoimmune illnesses affecting the gut and other tissues and organs. InveniAI will pay PRISM an undisclosed milestone payment under the terms of the agreement.
