“We are extremely pleased to have signed this important first agreement with Qilu and to have the opportunity to expand ECIs portfolio in cooperation with this excellent partner,” said Bob Franks, General Manager, ECI.
Cialis and its generic counterpart, Tadalafil, belong to the Phosphodiesterase (PDE) inhibitor class of medications. Tadalafil is a prescription medication that is used to treat erectile dysfunction and the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH; an enlarged prostate).
“This alliance with ECI will broaden market access for our generic product, Tadalafil,” commented Jing Zhang, General Manager of Import & Export Division, Qilu. “We are excited about the opportunity and look forward to working closely with ECI to launch this product in the coming weeks.”
ECI is active in the production and manufacture of generic pharmaceuticals to obtain approvals for a wide variety of therapeutic areas to sell and distribute them in the United States. Qilu, on the other hand, is focused on the production, manufacturing, and marketing of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) and finished formulations. For the 12 months ending December 2020, the IQVIA market value of Cialis and its generic equivalents is expected to be about 131 million dollars. Tadalafil will be released under the ECI label. Eli Lilly and Company owns the trademark Cialis.
