Hepion Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on AI-driven therapeutic drug development to treat non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), appointed Launa J. Aspeslet, Ph.D., RAC, as Chief Operating Officer.

Dr. Aspeslet is a dynamic C-level executive with over 25 years of progressive life sciences industry leadership and management experience in strategic planning and growth, clinical research, regulatory affairs, quality assurance and control, and research and development. She most recently served as the CEO of Translational Research in Oncology (TRIO), a clinical research firm that oversees oncology studies worldwide.
Dr. Aspeslet formerly worked as a biotechnology consultant for early-stage companies, where she developed, implemented, and executed drug, device, and combination product development strategies. She worked at Isotechnika Pharma Inc. for 17 years, rising through the ranks to Chief Operating Officer when Aurinia Pharmaceuticals Inc. acquired the company in 2013.
