With this acquisition, Biodextris will be a part of the Clean Biologics group, enabling the group to widen its activities by including Biodextris complimentary services. It also offers Clean Biologics an opportunity to establish a presence on the North American market to increase its activities in this region. The firm is proud to have reached this milestone, and we thank all the employees for their commitment since we created the firm five years ago. This acquisition by Clean Biologics, powered by healthcare investment fund ArchiMed, positions Biodextris for near-term expansion.
Biodextris, joins the two client-focused firms within the Clean Biologics group. Clean Cells, created in 2000, provides a range of services for the biopharmaceutical industry, from quality control and biological safety tests to the production of cell banks and GMP-grade BSL2/BSL3 virus seed stock and bacteriophages for phage therapy. Naobios, a CDMO, joined the group in 2019; it offers bioprocess development and GMP production for clinical batches of vaccines BSL2/BSL3, oncolytic viruses, and viral vectors.
The Clean Biologics group is leading in a widening market. In 2019, a Visiongain report valued the CDMO market at $2.104bn, with market value expected to grow at a CAGR of 9.13 percent to reach $5.125bn by 2029. Following the outbreak of Covid-19 and the subsequent efforts to quickly vaccinate populations against the SARS-CoV-2 virus, this is now expected to be much higher.
