The Bioinert surface is a thin polyol hydrogel layer that is covalently attached to the µ-Slide’s ibidi Polymer Coverslip Bottom. It does not allow any cells or biomolecules to bind to it, making it superior to normal ultra-low attachment (ULA) products. The stable passivation is maintained for days, if not weeks, which is critical during long-term research.
The Bioinert ready-to-use products combine the best optical quality with complete surface passivation. They are the best answer for any researcher who wants to cultivate cells or cell aggregates without surface adherence (spheroids, suspension cells, and embryoid bodies). ibidi has just released µ-Slides with µ-Patterns for controlled cell adhesion, which contain defined adhesion sites surrounded by Bioinert. These spots capture adherent cells in suspension, resulting in spatially regulated cell adhesion.
