Dr. Xufeng Sun will use his knowledge and passion to improve BSM's capabilities in his new role as Vice President of Formulation and Technology Transfer at BSM.

Dr. Xufeng Sun has been promoted to Vice President of Formulation and Technology Transfer at Berkshire Sterile Manufacturing (BSM). Dr. Sun is in charge of leading a team of process engineers, as well as directing and improving the company's filling and formulation methods, batch records, and investigations. Dr. Sun plans to add novel formulation and lyophilization development services to BSM's capabilities in 2022.

Dr. Sun joined BSM in 2019 as Director of Formulation and Technology Transfer, where he oversaw a small team of engineers, evaluated batch records, and ensured that new production methods and technologies were implemented smoothly. Since then, he's played a key role in expanding the engineering team's size, developing a new workflow to streamline protocol creation and issuance while increasing oversight, and recruiting talent to start development work.
Dr. Sun has over 18 years of pharmaceutical development experience. Sun oversaw AMRI's pharmaceutical development team, led injectable medication product development, and technical transfer to fill/finish sites prior to joining BSM. Sun holds a doctorate in organic chemistry from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute as well as a master's and bachelor's degree in analytical chemistry from Xiamen University.

Xufeng has developed a team that has made the transition for new and complex projects seamless, and he will be formally implementing lyophilization and formulation development at the company in 2022.
