Athos will analyze de-identified samples from Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) patients using Caltech's specialized facilities and equipment for molecular analysis and spectrometry-based proteomics.

Biotechnology company Athos Therapeutics develops small molecule therapeutics for cancer and immune-mediated diseases using Artificial Intelligence (AI). Athos revealed that as part of their partnership with Caltech, they would add proteomics analysis to their internal omics AI platform. This will be a part of an enhancement to their internal omics AI platform. The Athos platform and proteomics based on spectrometry will benefit from this collaboration in inflammatory bowel disease research.

"Caltech's proteomics facilities are state of the art allowing Athos to characterize the proteome of IBD patients, contributing to the identification of novel protein drug targets."
In collaboration with Caltech, Athos will conduct proteomics experiments based on spectrometry using cultures and biopsies from archival and de-identified IBD patient samples. This study is designed to correlate the results of the proteomics analyses with detailed clinical information, such as subtypes of IBD, patient age, gender, disease location, previous treatment, and the patient's overall status.
